Terms of Use
Last updated: June 2026
By downloading and using Max, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
Use at your own risk
Max is an AI assistant with full, hands-on control of your Mac — it can run shell commands, control apps, read and write files, see your screen, and act on other Macs you connect. It acts on instructions generated by an AI model, which can be wrong or be manipulated by content it reads. You are solely responsible for what Max does on your machine. Keep approval prompts on, use the command denylist, set a spend limit, and only allowlist people you trust.
No warranty
Max is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Flayr Labs and its contributors are not liable for any damages — including data loss, lost profits, or any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — arising from your use of Max.
Your keys and third parties
Max uses AI model providers and messaging services that you configure with your own credentials. Your use of those services is governed by their terms, and you are responsible for any costs they charge. Max includes optional spend limits, but you remain responsible for monitoring your usage.
Open source
Max's source is available on GitHub under its accompanying license. These terms cover the distributed application.
Changes
We may update these terms; continued use after changes means you accept them.
